Vanilla skies over Watford in Autumn 2019

Autumn Heights – Poem

Autumn brings

Mushroom rings

Aching bones

In warm homes

Snuggled gowns

And eiderdowns

Oranges and reds

Greens and ever beds

The runny nose

And damp toes

Watching where

The fungi grows

Woody smells

Drift bare in the air

As decomposition grows

An earthy plether

Coming together

A bed for the winter shows
