Autumn brings
Mushroom rings
Aching bones
In warm homes
Snuggled gowns
And eiderdowns
Oranges and reds
Greens and ever beds
The runny nose
And damp toes
Watching where
The fungi grows
Woody smells
Drift bare in the air
As decomposition grows
An earthy plether
Coming together
A bed for the winter shows

Very nice poem to describe Autumn. I enjoyed reading this. 🙂
Thank you so much, this was one I enjoyed writing. I looked out yesterday and saw a huge mushroom ring near where the foxes are…some pigeons were feeding on them. I see some amazing wildlife from my 16th floor tower block – I am rather blessed with great view on the world.
It sounds amazing, and must be to have inspired you to write such a piece.
