Fairies Have a Different Perspective – poem

Most roads taken are a struggle
Climbing up mountains
To be rumbled by rubble

Two steps forward
One slide back
I flew one day
Can you believe that?

I remember the day as clear as rain
Meadow flowers stood tall against me
Grass scratched gently at my bare legs as
I ran across the field to escape her
My body feeling lighter and lighter as I sped up
Soft ground gave way beneath me as my feet pushed me up
Until my legs free wheeled above the grass
Hot air circulated under my skirt as
I flew across that field; wind blowing in my hair
And then I fell to floor and laughed.
