TVT Mesh Ongoing Saga – journal entry

My backstory:

I had a TVT mesh implant in 2005, during an hysterectomy because of Endometriosis of the womb through NHS England, in United Kingdom. A TVT mesh implant is polypropylene.

Polypropylene is a plastic.

Since being implanted I’ve had continual pain in the area (the groin) and blood in my urine. I have undergone several surgerical investigations which have all stated that the mesh is exactly as it should be and isn’t the issue causing my pain.

I’ve become intermittently incontinent which means I have days when I can hold my bladder and others when I cannot. However, all days are extremely painful – hard to stand up painful.

My daughter came across an article from America (in 2018) which stated thousands of women had been arguing with the makers of the TVT mesh and asking for compensation for injuries. So, since then I’ve been trying to get an NHS doctor or a consultant to talk to me about this.

Could it be the TVT mesh causing my groin and bladder pain?

Initially, when I challenged my implanting surgeon, the response was helpful. After collecting evidence of continual pain and the many (double figures) investigations/consultations/operations for bladder pain over the last sixteen years and showing him, he agreed that there was a possibility of the mesh injury and referred me to a consultant to look into removal of the TVT and he wrote a letter to that end.

That letter was written in 2018, now over three years ago.

I’m still waiting for a referral to a mesh removal clinic.

My day is spent dying to go to the loo. It doesn’t matter if I’ve just been or not, I still urgently need to go. You’ve possibly had a similar experience if you’ve ever had a sexually transmitted disease. Now imagine the mental torture of decades of that feeling. That is the life of women and men who’ve been implanted with this mesh around their privates.

Things which used to work, like diazepam, no longer work to relax the bladder. There is no release from the pain. Light or dark, the pain seers into the hours, intruding and tainting every single day.

The British Health Secretary, Matt Hancock at the time, apologised in April 2020 and insisted that people like myself suffering with this polypropylene mesh inside us should be listened to and promised us the best care from now on.

The past year I’ve been spent hours on the phone attempting to get the mesh removal clinic and my GP surgery to correspond effectively. Trying to save mental anguish, I’ve been marking a fortnight’s appointment with myself, in my diary between calls and trying to forget it inbetween. Not easy, as my bladder is physically constantly reminding me.

And now, quite frankly, I feel like a cash cow.

My GP surgery requested me to sign forms for extra funding. Apparently being implanted with TVT mesh is outside of the NHS normal remit although I was implanted by the NHS. I signed the forms. My GP then insisted I attend a community gynae clinic where they could refer me to the mesh removal clinic as my GP ‘wasn’t allowed’ to do it directly.

I travel to a face-to-face appointment with a consultant who didn’t bother to face me for the five minutes I sat in his company.

Although apologising for dragging me to the clinic and for the ongoing problems I am having accessing help he couldn’t refer me. The reason? His forms weren’t working. I don’t know who he was. No paperwork – as it was organised by text message. I have requested paperwork, twice.

It was a further six weeks before a referral went off from them, although it is not received by the mesh removal clinic at the University College Hospital London as they refused it because it’s incorrectly filled in. I’ve complained, cried and got extremely depressed but that’s all there is.

I’ve no more news to tell. The referral lies somewhere in the London NHS ether. After all, they don’t get paid extra to do their jobs in the NHS do they? I will call them all again next week.

Tortured soul, Watford, UK.

Thank you for reading about this very personal issue I have to deal with. It helps me a great deal writing about it. To me, the medical profession are extremely ignorant and unhelpful in this matter having also refused me mental health help, leaving me this as my coping mechanism.

Lab Rat Age – Lockdown Poem

Isolating for covid nineteen

All social distancing

It’s now twenty twenty-one

Another lock down has begun

Pfizer, Astra Zeneca and J & J

Motivated with shares and graphs

They wipe us away

Like fleas on an arse

Looking back to where to begin

I came across the story of Aspirin

Linked to Spanish Flu, who knew?

Pharma have us by the balls

Wanting funding for a new cause

Just how many more variants

Can really be found

In residents isolating, gone to ground?

We’ve vaccinated millions

Yet death figures soar

It takes no super sleuth

To unlock the cage

On Britain’s new,

Lab Rat Age.

The end.

The Whiteness and Bloody Americans. Rant.

What is wrong with white people? This is aimed at white people in Europe not the States. I’m English and would also class myself as European. I voted to remain for Brexit.

How can white people not realise they may be a target for hatred? Because, in the same way my (white) ancestors had to scream out for help to London, most are not aware.

The media and social media only tell what it wants, but if you look you will find independent news outlets now giving out the very depressing news. Youtube is worth watching if you can circumnavigate the PR stuff, filters, sexist and racist search results.

Stabbing and shootings in towns up and down the country have increased dramatically during lockdown…they stopped collecting ethnicity as it was getting very obvious. In response, Far right activity rose by 4% to 8% of our countries total terrorist threat. This resulted in a news blackout of the ongoing attacks.

But, I want to talk about our health and the NHS, and a woman called Rano Bains.

Why should you be interested in what she says? Because she is Head of Equality and Diversity for many NHS Trusts and hospitals (national health service) in England. It is her words which drive policy, funding and training in our wards and universities.

Rano Bain’s words…

“The whiteness refers to white consciousness – the ‘silent’, pervasive, cultural norm that informs and shapes our racial ideology. Whiteness is constructed as a formless, empty cultural space that is neutral, natural and normative. Whiteness, because it is an unnamed, hegemonic position of privilege and power, becomes the point of reference for measuring others, unlike “blackness” which has been named in the language of white signification. Whiteness has defied scrutiny as it does not seem like a culture as everyone is apparently the same.”

hmmm…plain English would have been nice…..However, I will attempt to break it down.

Do white people know what other white people think? She makes it sound like we are plugged into an invisible big psychic cloud. Her claims of white consciousness of people in Russia, Israel, Poland being the same as white people in England, Germany or America are terrible.

It shows her racism immediately. The first line says that she is viewing white people from a position of suspicion and it is white people who declare racial identity, to her. Is Ms Bains the type of person who should be running our ‘equality and diversity’ departments?

Current serving Ministers have declared that white privilege has no place being taught in our schools, but are they aware that it is taught in our NHS to our healthcare assistants, nurses and doctors?

White people come lower down the humanity chart to many people in the media, the health care profession and education. This has to change. All lives matter all faiths matter, including those without faith – that doesn’t mean they make the rules.

When people are not offered the same facilities and services it is called discrimination. (eg. TB vaccine). When they are not warned of extra risks to them, (eg. flu vaccine) this is racism.

White people are the only race not afforded the indigenous land protections.

In this manner, the United Nations is racist.

My country – The United Kingdom of the British Isles, is a country RICH in culture and heritage. It is wrong to say we have none. To be frank it is racist to say white people have no culture.

Terms like ‘snowy peaks, and ‘the whiteness‘ are racist. They should not be allowed within training programs in our national health system. They should be discredited by academics within our schools and universities.

Explain to me why white people are criticized for holding positions in predominantly white citizenships or companies? How can that possibly be racist? But, it isn’t racist that African’s insist on their land being owned by black people? It isn’t racist that native American Indians have land that is just theirs?

If white people want their own space, it’s racist?

Explain why Christians can’t say they hate Islam? Both are bad, but Christians have become tolerant and are the standing religion in the UK along with paganism. Religion isn’t even a race but somehow it is being added to our ‘hate crime’ laws, originally designed to protect everyone. Soon I will be unable to say I hate religion!!!

This directly threatens our free speech and our security.

Explain why a black person (from anywhere) is on our national news talking about feeling hurt because she suspects racism? She suspects it was racism…? She may be getting hassled for all sorts of reasons to assume it is racism is not on. Because she is in a predominantly white country she declares racism, but she works within a predominantly non white environment in the NHS in London.

Regardless.

How is this national news when the same day people were stabbed, on UK streets, for being white? Another incident only covered at a local level, as all of these types of murders now.

Murder by colour code. If you are a white murderer or white child killer you will be plastered over the media, if you are black/brown/not English you may not even get arrested if your child dies unexpectantly unless the public pull the police up.

Explain why George Floyd is on BBC but Cannon Hinnant isn’t? Neither murder happened in Britain (BBC stands for British Broadcasting Corp).

I’m scared. I stand as someone who was attacked by people who were not of my colour. I am not imagining the hatred towards me. I’m verbally attacked when I leave my home by an awful Russian woman (white). I’m scared of the doctors and nurses no matter what colour they are, as many view me as spoilt immediately because I am English. White Irish ambulance staff can be especially mean. All white people are not the same!

As an English person I learnt a long time ago to lie about where I am from, but I will never again. I educated myself away from the white guilt, the same as I educated myself away from the Christian guilt and can now see it for what it is. Both are run for greed, envy, laziness, brainwashing and corruption.

I stand as someone who was born in Plymouth, Devon, England. The full history is not covered by the Americans EVER…they remain race blind on the slave trade history because of their own sordid history and because it suits certain people politically.

This lady, Rano Bains (no idea where she is from), has a nerve to say this of England with her Whiteness perspective. However, we are the most tolerant of countries. Perhaps she cannot see a long history or culture within our country, but surely this does not mean there isn’t one?

I read her pdf in 2018 and have been stewing since. I didn’t want to do a piece as I don’t want to add to a rise of hatred towards anyone but it seems I do need to defend myself and my life. A black lady is found online saying all white people are inbred and most of the comments underneath agreed…however, you will not be able to find it.

Search for any attack on a white person and google immediately takes you to black lives matter material unless you know the name of the victim and the date you will not find it on referenced on our news. Google is not relevant and neither is youtube.

White people are not the same, nor do we think we are the same. We are classed as white for measurement of resources for assurances to black and brown people to ensure that facilities are shared equally.

Also, we now appear to have strange advert quotas – air brushing blond people from TV, advertising, film and social media in Europe is also getting very tedious. European people are white. Get over it. Stop telling us we are racist.

White people are just people. We don’t deserve any more or any less than any other human. It is Rano Bain’s term, The Whiteness, that gave birth to many of my poems reflecting as The Blackness….ideally I wouldn’t be seeing the world in this manner. I never used to. But, this is obviously the idea, after all, you cannot capture a culture and it’s resources without upsetting a few people.

Our national anthem has come under attack. Us Brits will ignore it and will carry on with it but for the English (traitors), Americans, Indians, Pakistanis, Russians and African who called for it to be banned, please get a education by reading the following.

The history behind the British song Rule Britannia, UK national anthem.
In the 1600s the seas around Britain were ruled by North African Slavers(who were black). They boarded British ships and carried off the crews (whites) to be sold as slaves in Africa. The situation became so bad that fishermen wouldn’t put out to sea in case they were captured by African Slave Traders.
Between 1609 and 1616, 466 British ships were captured by Slave Traders in the English Channel, Irish Sea and North Atlantic, and the crews were sold into slavery. White crews.

Some other historical news stories from England include,

In 1625, sixty English people (white) who had taken refuge in a local church were dragged out, loaded up and taken off to Africa to be sold as slaves from Mount’s Bay in Cornwall

On 12 August 1625 the Mayor of Plymouth wrote to London for military help after 27 ships had been seized by North African Muslim Slave Traders in just 10 days.

In 1645, 240 people were seized as slaves in Cornwall.

White people – valued by other nations because of the colour of their skin for abuses in other countries. We didn’t value ourselves higher because of our skin they did because they wanted it.

One or two survived, made their way back to England and wrote of their capture, but most didn’t.

The situation only began to improve for Britain after the end of our English Civil War when the Royal Navy was built up under Oliver Cromwell.

By 1700, North African Slavers generally knew better.

It was in honour of this defence of our security, that in 1740, James Thompson wrote ‘Rule Britannia’.

Apathy will not help our children or our grandchildren. I stupidly did not go to the police over my own attack in Kings College Hospital but I did complain and I did go to my GP about my injuries so it is a matter of record. I also took photos of my injuries, they amounted to bruising.

People need to stop talking about racism as if white people are always responsible. Racists are everywhere and you cannot tell them by their colour.

Stop believing that because of colour you should have less and be grateful because you have nothing to feel bad about.

Stop believing that because of colour you should have more and other people owe you something.

The end.

Leave a comment if you like, I suspect this will be filtered out of google and bing search anyway.

Thanks for reading.

If anyone else can decode Ms Rano Bain’s words please enlighten me. Pardon the pun.

Stop Discrimination in Medicine

Over and over again we are told only some people can get certain diseases and other races cannot. Even if results come back indicating a blood disorder, sickle cell will not be tested for…maybe even rickets would not be picked up because of your childs genetic makeup…although they don’t know your child’s genetic makeup…they do that on sight, by name or nationality. They = Doctors.

Rickets is a disease where monitoring and treatment is being targeted towards non whites when every child is at equal risk. Here is a medical paper saying it isn’t just non whites who suffer from it…attempting to make racist doctors understand that white children get ill too.

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(14)60211-7/fulltexthttps://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(14)60211-7/fulltext

We’ve accepted racism and allowed it to enter our health professions. As a result Rickets is on the rise and many of our sick children go undiagnosed with painful diseases for lengthy periods.

We must call out racist papers and medical trials. If a drug is to be safe or a treatment, it must be safe for everyone. As genetically we are all different – not all white people are the same, not all black people are the same and there are billions of people inbetween.

Allopurinol – known to have vicious side effects in non whites is not usually prescribed to black folks in England, or shouldn’t be. It was given to me though and caused major rash and major gout attack.

But, much worse than that, I found this video. It doesn’t even warn against giving it to black people…

So, we are all at the mercy of this distrust and it is caused by the Pharma companies.

Please be cautious about any medication given to you and read the small print carefully.

Stay safe.

Thanks for reading.

I wonder how many other drugs are known to cause harm depending on your genetics?

Watch “Special report: Infected Blood – The search for truth” on YouTube

So, while the world is looking at blood transfusions to fix the ‘covid19 nightmare’…this is going on.

The link above is for the youtube coverage of the NHS blood scandal which started in the late 1970s and continued – disgustingly- until the 1990s, accidently killing thousands including Anita Roddick who was The Body Shop founder.

It has taken forty years to get here and they have been investigating for some years now.

But was it really an accident?

I’ve been listening to the inquiry and it’s rather sickening. It’s more than sickening. It’s criminal.

At the time in the 1980s, 1990s, the patients’ questions were ignored, children were diagnosed and treated with large amounts of factor 8 after it was known to contain American prison drug users blood infected with the AIDs Virus.

After hours of questioning, the doctor did, when asked if he had anything to say, broke down and said, “It’s bad isn’t it, it shouldn’t have happened”.

Too right it shouldn’t have happened. Thousands lost their lives and children. No one lost their job.

How he did not lose his job is astounding.

Yet, here we are again. Using blood products supposedly safe for use in covid19 patients if the originator has recovered from covid19…is the blood being super heat treated to make sure no other viruses or diseases are present?

If you listen to this inquiry you’ll realise that there is no guarantee of that.

Johnson, Johnson And Johnson.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/dec/12/doctors-not-told-full-risk-vaginal-mesh-implants-bbc-panorama

The above article may be two years old but this is the same firm, Johnson & Johnson, our Government, led by Boris Johnson, has trusted to make the covid19 vaccine. The firm which tricked doctors and patients into accepting plastic polymer implants has been awarded more money.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8626619/UK-buys-potential-COVID-19-vaccines-J-J-Novavax.html

https://indianexpress.com/article/explained/covid-19-coronavirus-vaccine-update-october-14-6725217/

You could not make it up. Johnson & Johnson are a well known pharma company. They have a good name. They made it through marketing and advertising. My consultant, and others within the NHS, got monetary kickbacks from them for using their products.

The products were unsafe and many, myself included, are waiting for the complicated removal of their products to start. My surgery is continually and frustratingly postponed for one reason or another, time and time again. My recovery will take a long time once it actually starts.

The mesh, made from polypropylene, was not checked for engineering coefficients with the human body. It still hasn’t been. Yet, the medical profession are still using it to fix hernias. The current restrictions on pelvic implantation do not go far enough and the NHS decided against an outright ban.

Many mesh injury stories are not covered in the media. Thousands of men and women have been injured by this device first designed and marketed by Johnson & Johnson. Docs are using other mesh polymers like sticking plasters and ignoring the side effects. It’s a ticking time bomb.

The Government’s in bed with two of the biggest players on our globe. Pharma and Oil.

However, fossil fuel companies don’t want you looking at this 2.8 billion dollar plastic medical market in a bad light, it’s bad for investment. So, in a smoke and mirrors move, they fund the ‘clean the ocean of plastic’ campaign and use the media to attack drinking straws to tire you of the subject of plastic altogether. It works, I’m fed up of plastic talk.

TV and media is saturated with news stories of climate change and recycling written by paid PR.

The United Kingdom of the British Isles banned plastic drinking straws in England in April 2019. Yes, it is actually now illegal to buy or sell them here. I break the law regularly by asking people to bring some back with them when they go abroad…sshh.

It should be noted that no one has died as a direct result of an altercation with a plastic straw nor has any injury or damage been inflicted by one.

Zero straw companies have been taken to court for damages.

The same cannot be said for medical mesh.

The same cannot be said for Johnson & Johnson.

As a woman I’ve never felt so imprisoned. I was in medical lockdown for four years before the rest of the world was with covid19! Imprisoned by mesh and what it has done to my mobility and health.

Thanks to covid19; I am one among billions, locked safely in our homes, waiting with baited breath for news from doctors, from pharma companies and our governments.

Now my jailer’s are Johnson, Johnson & Johnson.

Obviously, with a J&J’s polymer device festering, painfully inside my abdomen I’m not going to feel great but what a slap in the face it was to hear that J & J received funding to make a covid19 vaccine after what they done to me.

Earlier this year Matt Hancock stood in front of cameras and apologised to me. He said the NHS and the government owe mesh victims a massive apology. And, then that was that. Forgive me, but that is not enough. No where near it. The fucking audacity of the man. I want this plastic shit out of me. I don’t think its too much to ask. I’ve been very patient.

“Money over morality.” That should really be the medical professions moto, or perhaps the more truthful, “Please be wary of us, we do harm” should be signposted outside every NHS Trust.

Before Johnson and Johnson are allowed to create more victims with these trials and tests on NHS patients for covid19 vaccines, surely some priority should be given to quantify and try to rectify the damage done to those of us already here through their other products?

How can a multinational company be allowed to operate against humanity and the planet’s environmental interests in the UK without any restriction? And how can they be given government funding after it’s be proven that they have done harm to patients by putting profits before safety?

Lots of questions and no answers for me. I just see all the greed and fully expect their gluttony will overcome them before any scruples will.

Ah, the drinking straws. Our gov banned them outright in such a short time regardless of the call from the disabled. It’s amazing what a so called democratic society’s government can do if they want.

They don’t want to look at plastics in medicine…it’s worth too much money. Banning the straws was a token gesture against plastic. Giving the money to J&J for the covid19 vaccine proves that NHS patients will continue to be the guinae pigs they have been for years.

What a shit show.

Caught In The Net – Poem

Caught in the Net – Polypropylene Mesh

My anger today will not go away
It is so hard to live
Every movement a reminder of what they did

People assume choice

They only listen to their same voice

Paint me with the colours that they know

Advice to look outside

Oh, that wondrous place,

The one I would reside?

Have you ever considered it’s not my wish to hide?

In my mind I glide across the countryside

My feet barely touching meadows grass

As I breathe in deep of green and wooded forests

I jump the trickling streams,

Wandering in leafy, brambled, brackened dreams

I miss

That I can see but no longer touch

The things that I love so much

I close my eyes to remember the smells,

The feeling of air on my skin

The prickle of sweaty regret begins…

The anger wells inside, that stupid trust

On which I had relied…

Taken from the forest of extremes

Where humans do good things.

Yes, they took from me.

They’re crooks who take liberty.

From Thalidomide to HIV

Between the Witz family and the Public Health Authority

They maime us

They kill us

With impunity

In perpetuity

Because victims you will not see

The End

The Fisherman and his Wife – A Folk Tale (A medium sized story)

The Fisherman and his Wife – A Folk Tale

There was once a fisherman who lived with his wife in a ditch, close by the sea-side. The fisherman used to go out all day long a-fishing and one day, as he sat on the shore with his rod, looking at the shining water and watching his line, all on a sudden his float was dragged away deep under the sea; and in drawing it up he pulled a great fish out of the water. The fish said to him, “Pray let me live: I am not a real fish; I am an enchanted prince, put me in the water again, and let me go.” “Oh!” said the man, “you need not make so many words about the matter; I wish to have nothing to do with a fish that can talk; so swim away as soon as you please.” Then he put him back into the water, and the fish darted straight down to the bottom and left a long streak of blood behind him.

When the fisherman went home to his wife in the ditch, he told her how he had caught a great fish, and how it told him that is was an enchanted prince, and that on hearing it speak he had let it go again. “Did you not ask it for anything?” said the wife. “No,” said the man; “what should I ask for?” “Ah! said the wife, “we live very wretchedly here in this nasty sticking ditch, do go back, and tell the fish we want a little cottage.” The fisherman did not much like the business, however, he went to the sea, and when he came there the water looked all yellow and green. And he stood at the water’s edge, and said:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

Then the fish came swimming to him, and said, “Well, what does she want?” “Ah!” answered the fisherman, “my wife says that when I had caught you, I ought to have asked you for something before I let you go again, she does not like living any longer in the ditch, and wants a little cottage.” “Go home then,” said the fish’ “she is in the cottage already.” So the man went home, and saw his wife standing at the door of a cottage. “Come in come in,” said she’ “is not this much better than the ditch?” And there was a parlour, and a bed-chamber, and a kitchen; and behind the cottage there was a little garden with all sorts of flowers and fruits, and a courtyard full of ducks and chickens. “Ah! said the fisherman, “how happily we shall live!” “We will try to do so at least,” said his wife.

Everything went right for a week or two, and then Dame Alice said, “Husband, there is not room enough in this cottage, the courtyard and the garden are a great deal too small; I should like to have a large stone castle to live in so go to the fish again and tell him to give us a castle.” “Wife, said the fisherman, “I don’t like to go to him again, for perhaps he will be angry; we ought to be content with the cottage.” “Nonsense!” said the wife; “he will do it very willingly; go along and try.” The fisherman went; but his heart was very heavy: and when he came to the sea it looked blue and gloomy, though it was quite calm, and he went close to it, and said:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

“Well, what does she want now? said the fish. “Ah!” said the man very sorrowfully, “my wife wants to live in a stone castle.” “Go home, then,” said the fish; “she is standing at the door of it already.” So away went the fisherman, and found his wife standing before a great castle. “See,” said she, “is not this grand?” With that they went into the castle together, and found a great many servants there, and the rooms all richly furnished and full of golden chairs and tables; and behind the castle was a garden, and a wood half a mile long, full of sheep, and goats , and hares, and deer; and in the courtyard were stables and cowhouses. “Well!” said the man, “now will we live contented and happy in the beautiful castle for the rest of our lives.” “Perhaps we may,” said the wife “but let us consider and sleep upon it before we make up our minds:” so they went to bed.

The next morning, when Dame Alice awoke, it was broad daylight, and she jogged the fisherman with her elbow, and said, “Get up, husband and bestir yourself, for we must be king of all the land.” “Wife, wife,” said the man, “why should we wish to be king? I will not be king.” “Then I will,” said Alice. “But, wife” answered the fisherman, “how can you be king? the fish cannot make you a king.” “Husband,” said she, “say no more about it, but go and try: I will be king!” So the man went away, quite sorrowful to think that his wife should want to be king. The sea looked a dark-grey colour, and was covered with foam as he cried out:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

“Well, what would she have now?” said the fish. “Alas!” said the man, “my wife wants to be king.” “Go home,” said the fish; “she is king already.” Then the fisherman went home; and as he came close to the palace, he saw a troop of soldiers, and heard the sound of drums and trumpets; and when he entered in, he saw his wife sitting on a high throne of gold and diamonds, with a golden crown upon her head: and on each side of her stood six beautiful maidens, each a head taller than the other. “Well, wife,” said the fisherman, “are you king?” “Yes,” said she, “I am king.”

And when he looked at her for a long time, he said, “Ah, wife! what a fine thing it is to be king! now we shall never have anything more to wish for.” “I don’t know how that may be,” said she; “never is a long time. I am king, ’tis true, but I begin to be tired of it, and I think I should like to be emperor.” “Alas, wife! why should you wish to be emperor?” “Husband, “said she, “go to the fish; I say I will be emperor.” “Ah, wife!” replied the fisherman, “the fish cannot make an emperor, and I should not like to ask for such a thing.” “I am king,” said Alice, “and you are my slave, so go directly!”

So the fisherman was obliged to go; and he muttered as he went along, “This will come to no good, it is too much to ask, the fish will be tired at last, and then we shall repent of what we have done.” He soon arrived at the sea, and the water was quite black and muddy, and a mighty whirlwind blew over it; but he went to the shore, and said:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

“What would she have now? said the fish. “Ah!” said the fisherman, “she wants to be emperor.” “Go home,” said the fish; “she is emperor already.” So he went home again; and as he came near he saw his wife sitting on a very lofty throne made of solid gold , with a great crown on her head full two yards high, and on each side of her stood her guards and attendants in a row, each one smaller than the other, from the tallest giant down to a little dwarf no bigger than my finger. And before her stood princes, and dukes, and earls: and the fisherman went up to her and said, “Wife are you emperor?” “Yes,” said she, “I am emperor.”

“Ah!” said the man as he gazed upon her, “what a fine thing it is to be emperor!” “Husband,” said she, “why should we stay at being emperor? I will be pope next.” “O wife, wife!” said he, “how can you be pope? there is but one pope at a time in Christendom.” “Husband,” said she, “I will be pope this very day.” “But,” replied the husband, “the fish cannot make you pope.” “What nonsense!” said she; “if he can make an emperor, he can make a pope, go try him.”

So the fisherman went. But when he came to the shore the wind was raging, and the sea was tossed up and down like boiling water, and the ships were in the greatest distress and danced upon the waves most fearfully; in the middle of the sky there was a little blue, but towards the south it was all red, as if a dreadful storm was rising. At this the fisherman was terribly frightened, and trembled, so that his knees knocked together; but he went to the shore and said:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

“What does she want now?” said the fish. “Ah!” said the fisherman. “my wife wants to be pope.” “Go home,” said the fish, “she is pope already.” Then the fisherman went home, and found his wife sitting on a throne that was two miles high, and she had three great crowns on her head, and around her stood all the pomp and power of the church; and on each side were two rows of burning lights, of all sizes, the greatest as large as the highest and biggest tower in the world, and the least no larger than a small rushlight. “Wife,” said the fisherman, as he looked at all this grandeur, “are you pope?” “Yes,” said she, “I am pope.”

“Well wife,” replied he, “it is a grand thing to be pope; and now you must be content, for you can be nothing greater!” “I will consider of that,” said the wife. Then they went to bed: but Dame Alice could not sleep all night for thinking what she should be next. At last morning came, and the sun rose. “Ah!” thought she as she looked at it through the window, “cannot I prevent the sun rising?” At this she was very angry, and wakened her husband, and said, “Husband, go to the fish and tell him I want to be lord of the sun and moon.” The fisherman was half asleep, but the thought frightened him so much, that he started and fell out of bed. “Alas wife!” said he, “cannot you be content to be pope?” “No,” said she, “I am very uneasy, and cannot bear to see the sun and moon rise without my leave. Go to the fish directly.”

Then the man went trembling for fear; and as he was going down to the shore a dreadful storm arose, so that the trees and the rocks shook; and the heavens became black, and the lightning played, and the thunder rolled; and you might have seen in the sea great black waves like mountains with a white crown of foam upon them; and the fisherman said:

“O man of the sea!

Come listen to me,

For Alice my wife,

The plague of my life,

Hath sent me to beg a boon of thee!”

“What does she want now?” said the fish. “Ah!” said he, “she wants to be lord of the sun and moon.” “Go home,” said the fish, “to your ditch again!” And there they live to this very day.

The End.

What a great yarn. Funny. This is a Grimms folk tale so it’s public access and not my own story.

It’s public access because it’s a traditional folk tale.

Wiki says,

‘Collected by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 The brothers were German academics who collected and published European, mainly German folklore. The tale is of Aarne-Thompson type 555, about dissatisfaction and greed.’

You may want to stop here, as these are purely my thoughts about this story of ‘dissactisfaction and greed’.

The Aarne-Thompson is an index of folklore. There is now a TV program based, loosely, upon the stories. I hope that they keep the extremely dry humour. This woman wasn’t just a plague she would have happily ruined the world for her wish to control it!

Stories are important learning tools for all of us. We can learn from the subtle, maybe not so subtle, lessons within them. This one containing a repeating rhyme is especially interesting to children as it’s simple and easy for them to grasp. There are also many topics for non-forced learning within the story and mentions of interesting points for discussion including giants, dwarfs, gold and diamonds.

It’s funny as no one can imagine many things about this story. The magical talking fish, the ungratefulness of the wife and the undying patience and loyalty of the husband. One may be tempted to think of this story of only one meaning, the “The Spoilt Wife” story, but it’s more.

That is the top story. The first layer of the yarn as it weaves across the tapestry. The deeper meaning of the story is “Earth’s Ownership”.  The gradually more troubled waters each time the fisherman came to ask another favour and each time what he wanted was given, without question, but the seas got darker and the transport of ships harder.

It tells us that anything can be bought. That is, apart from the sun and moon, as this would mess with, and possibly make our planet untraversable. The fish symbolism is fairly interesting to argue but essentially, in English society, we do still say ‘He’s a big fish in a little pond’ so perhaps it’s someone important the fisherman came across but there is also the obvious Christian connection to take into account with the fish being it’s well known symbol since 300 AD and of course the pisces symbolism too with fish swimming in both directions.

This story tells us it was a big fish…perhaps it was a whale? They are seen as a symbol of earths great wonders and have many stories written about them including of course Moby Dick but he was standing upon the shore fishing and it is unlikely to have been a whale, unless it was a stranded whale then it would have needed help back into the water. Perhaps it is a carp, again, a significant fish. Other versions of the story may give us more but there may not be more to it.

It is odd that the story doesn’t choose to call her a Queen rather than a king. Europe did have several Queens by the time this story was circulating, according to history. Is there anything to be made of that? Perhaps a little sexist propaganda? The twelve maidens stood near her could offer a clue. And candles as tall as a tower besides the pope imagery and a two yard high crown on the king is thought provoking too…so much detail. Could these things mean anything other than embellishment?

I love folk tales and as I read them with older eyes, they mean more than they initially did. The art of a great story is to stand the test of time and this one does. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did bringing it to you.

Fresh Horizons – A Poem.

In Callow Land

Owls screech

Down Fall the Roe

Submission

Into light so bright

Burning without

Moons healing shadow

Press hands

On mercy knees

Smiles spread

On face of He

Return to a place

Secreted in history.

We sense they come.

One sole hangs in the scales

Nought one shoe can do.

Beg Humanity to see

The beauty that surrounds us

In a leaf or a humbler tree?

So, although they silence me

And, cut me deep too

I bleed blue, a blackberry hue

I will come back and take

My land,

That’s promised you.

Your fear too real

Endangering

Life you would steal

I lay down the lavender

To placate, replicate

For You and Its late,

Ones at the gates

Staring lusty eyes search for holes

Greedy to trade the souls

They sayeth devil be blamed

Just Gods on side, and

Under his wing

Opportunists will hide.

Less married women!

Single breeders evil be.

Feed the children you have sown.

Become the Father

It’s your place to own.

Or should be! (If you took responsibility.)

The innocence of soul be free,

Stop taking it for thee.

Filling youths’ heads

With catastrophe

And calamity,

After calamity.

To survive I must desist.

Disappear into the mist.

My love, I leave you

Upon freshly axed logs

Scented of woodland fresh

Surrounded in bluebells

With honey and primrose breath

Where dragonflies flutter

Unwritten but uttered.

The Covid19 Drugs Trials – UK Recovery Trials. Are They Ethical?

“The UK is leading the world with studies of the new corona virus” says the news reader, “It’s ‘recovery trials’ are doing well”. It’s recovery trials? I do a little digging. Ah, this the name for the current drug trials for treatment of covid19 in the UK that are now starting to come to an end.

I found this, that some of you may find interesting, it’s worth watching all the way as I imagine it will be removed fairly quickly. This video does raise some concerns for the patients and the study. Listen to Dr Been (!) It gets interesting just before half way through, although it was useful from the beginning. I like his delivery and simple explanations.

One cannot help but wonder how this study was allowed and if the patients were really informed. I say this as I know someone who has died from covid19. After a day of attempting to get some paracetamol (there was a shortage) to get his temperature down he called the doctor. He had breathing difficulties generally and his chest was hurting. His temperature was sky high and he was sick.

An ambulance came, lots of things happened, but the main one was that he was put in a medically induced coma for his safety. No one was allowed to go with him to the hospital. I’m assuming it was same if not similar for the thousands of others who have died. Did he have drugs trialled on him or did he get the very best treatment he normally would?

Hydroxychloroquine was being trialled here on very sick patients. I have to agree with this doctor. This is not a good study. This is not ethical. As such the data is not reliable not to say how worrying it is for the British public who, unfortunately see the NHS as not being able to do them any harm.

Welcome is involved which is nice to know. They are a huge organisation with great resources and are working with the NHS.

Oxford and their ‘pathways’ of treatments…thankfully started recovery trials before we got locked down in mid March 2020. How very organised they were. Let’s hope that all the patients involved would have died anyway of covid19 because otherwise this is bad.

Note, that they talk constantly of the drugs that they are studying. No one mentions patients other than where they are recruited from geographically, their demographic and that, stated very factually, there is around a 25% fatally rate in trial members.

It should be noted that these are drugs that are already licenced, not new drugs. These are known drugs being looked at under clinical guidance in different settings and doses. For instance Hydroxychloroquine is usually prescribed, cautiously, in out-patients but in these studies it is being given in huge doses at the beginning of admission to extremely ill people. This study took seventy-six days and recruited over a thousand patients.

Suspected covid19 patients are invited as well as actual covid19 positive patients.

The outcome of the studies is one of two. Does the patient live or not. So, these drugs trials are only measured by fatality. Who is looking out for the interests of these sick, probably disorientated patients? Again, is this ethical?

What happened to getting blood samples or mucous and studying them? What happened to diagnosing the patient and then treating the disease which has actually been found? According to the reports many of the trial members did not have covid19. If this is the case the ‘successful’ medicine is simply going to be licensed for treatment of covid19 if it does no real harm.

I long suspected that the UK was allowed to ‘become infected’ with covid19 in order for the NHS to be used to collect data from the infected patients to sell to pharma. But it looks like I was wrong. Big pharma control more in the NHS and the patients are now the new ethical ‘animals being experimented on’.

Thankfully the NHS is filled, mainly, with individuals that do care and for this reason we will all still continue to support the NHS.

Thanks for reading. Hope it isn’t the same Dr Been.

Godswill and The Illusion of Judgement – poem and article. Long Read.

Godswill and The Illusion of Judgement

by Samantha unextraordinarybint Harris

Judgey judgey

Look at them in their best

Dressed only to impress

Sit in pews

No views

Staring ahead

Listening

But do not hear

The vision they can’t see

It’s easier then,

To turn their nose at me!

To them I say, I see you

And what you do

Your judgement’s very clear.

I see trees and skies of blue

Houses lined in unison, new

Clouds float on jet lined skies.

I know nothing of this is mine.

If it was godswill to take lust from me

To turn it to modesty

How can I make you see,

Godswill is to subdue me?

I will not go quietly into the dark.

I want to sing, lovely, like a lark

I want to show my flesh to the sun

I want the rights of which

I begun.

It is the beholders problem

To have this Lust

Children should not be turned to dust.

Godswill be done is

Nothing more

Than helping you all forgive the score!

Godswill be done

Excuses evil

Words then are the axle of the wheel

They turn the screw

And sow judgement new.

Now they are looking to reset.

We haven’t caught them yet

Give me my body

You already have my soul.

There are those of you that know.

There are those of you that know.

The end.

Judgement is in the eye of the beholder.
Slavery and oppression of people can only happen if they think they deserve it. There never was a minotaur was there?

25th July 2020

This poem is the result of anger, as usual, lol, after an argument with a religious woman online. I’ve had to step away from Facebook until every one goes back to work. This poem came about after I’d shared a post from one of the Manchester Arena victims who had lost her eight year old sister, Saffie-rose Roussos. Ashlee has done a video addressing the terrorist. For those unfamiliar, it was an Islamic state terrorist attack at a concert on the 22nd of May 2017.

The bomb injured around six hundred people and killed twenty-two, many of them children. Most of the injured have life altering injuries and will have to medical intervention for the rest of their natural lives and need trauma therapy.

I asked that my Facebook friends condemn terrorism action and support this young lady.

I have over 3,000 friends from all over the globe on my fb account they’re hidden from each other as I also have my fam on there and don’t like the possibility of them becoming targets because of something some one may have become offended by. Facebook setting allow you to do this.

I’ve purposely gathered people from all races, religions and nationalities – I’m requested five times daily from people. I never request friends myself. So, everyone on my fb has requested my friendship. I’ve had the account since 2007.

My Facebook page is busy, I’m stuck at home, I post mainly on politics, religion, comedy, British culture and health. I post about problems people are having with religion in their parts of the world and as such have many Indians and Pakistani muslim friends – mainly men, some women – hence the argument. I have Russians, Chinese and many, many Americans and some Canadians on there too, from countries I never knew existed like Ambazonia.

I do this for a reason, this allowing loads of people on my Facebook that I do not actually know, as I am aware of marketing and social media tech bubbles and filters. I want a rounded view of the world, not my own world reflected back at me or a view that one countries media desire for me.

I digressed but with good reason. Back to the post that I shared from Miss Ashlee Roussos.

One Christian man from the US condemned the terrorist action which had killed her sister. Just one person. However, several people contacted me privately to express that it was godswill. That it wasn’t for them to question his judgement. Even in private. Not that anything is private! All the religions thought this, that it was Godswill.

It is not joke that religion is becoming very powerful in England. 22,000 parents were forced to send their children to faith school last year. This year they changed hospital admission forms to state your religion. Because of discrimination Pagans are forced to say we are Church of England again…there is not option to tick Pagan. And, let’s be honest here, if there was an option to tick Pagan, would a pagan do it, knowing most of the doctors are Christian, Hindi, Jewish or Muslim now? Also our beloved NHS performs circumcism for religious reasons…it used to be only done for medical reasons.

Terms such as ‘head of household’ are back in fashion and used on rent agreements with the social housing and private housing – this was something we had gotten rid of for decades under women’s equality. When a couple took on a tenancy, they both, man and woman, had equal rights to the property because women were seen as equal.

Now the man can evict the woman and keep the property so the woman must live by his rules. We allowed these changes for religion. Head of household in married couple must be the man.

This slide has had a huge effect on our society. Ours is a ‘Lady’s first’ society. However, with the power of pagans and the church of England waning the shift of power towards Catholicism, Islam, Hindi, and Hebrew faiths means we are dealing with a new interpretation of society.

Children must be protected in this new interpretation and supported, we do this by protecting people properly so that they are not reliant on an individual, faith or family who doesn’t care for them. We should support people regardless of faith or family connections. It is not communism it’s being there regardless, caring.

The current trend of bringing faith back into education, wellbeing, medical practises and science is extremely worrying. It is not good for women. It is an oppressive situation for women and children again. Feminism doesn’t come in a hijab. Sorry but it doesn’t, and I’ve been arguing that one for a decade too. Religion comes in a hijab…don’t confuse.

In order to get social housing in the UK the rules say one must provide a letter from your previous landlord evicting you. However, when family throws you out on the street, they rarely give letters to help out. The family know the evictee will be homeless and forced to live a street life or go back to them. Domestic violence is now a huge problem.

This rule, of supplying a letter, again forces the belief that you should always respect your parents, regardless of how they are treating you. These administrative changes force children to stay in abusive relationships or be seen as evil for not loving their parents. These rules force children to accept godswill and whatever happens to them as ‘destined’.

I’m very thankful to my Methodist church for two things. One for teaching me about Jesus and two for showing me the door when I voiced negativity towards the church and my parents. I was given freedom to choose. To me, this shows the deepest empathy for the child who they could not help.

I have no malice towards religion I only wish to protect myself and children generally. But there is malice from religions through judgement of others. Religion has a place but right now it’s not using it’s place correctly and it is being forced upon communities. It does not have a place in schools. Faith school is a huge mistake. Indoctrination of children into a religion of any kind, in a multicultural society is wrong.

Jesus said, “The meek will inherit the Earth.” – This means those without strength will die. It doesn’t mean what I’ve heard many say, that Christians will inherit the Earth and the rest will be banished. To inherit the earth means to be put into it, to be buried in earth (dirt) six feet under. Jesus warns us. Strength forces justice.

It is strength which propels us forward. It is inner strength which pushes us through when we feel physically weakened in our surroundings. It is strength which helps us strive for change, to strive for protection from the injustices which befall us.

Unjust things happen – however, it seems to live under ‘Godswill’ there are no ‘unjust’ deaths…just deaths willed by the hand of gods… This can only be a lie. The only deaths would should be attributed to God are those from Mother Nature – like being caught in a storm and being blown off a cliff.

Death caused by a man. He is not using the hand of God he just says he is, surely his acts are evil? There is no entity as God. God is an ideal, a code, a set of common rules and values, different to each country and religion. Surely all religions should condem mass terrorism? Pagans do.

What we need is a common code. A code of protection for children from harm. A code that all religions and peoples agree on. Until then, there will be abuses, there will be ‘terrorist’ killings, there will continue to be sex exploitation of children and there will continue to be slavery and domestic violence. Do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. do no harm. Do no harm. Do no harm. Seems simple enough to me.

Whilst Hindus believe that child abuse is destiny i.e. the child must have done something in a previous life. And while Catholics, Muslims and Judaism all have modesty codes – i.e. if the beholder is lustful it must be because the object wasn’t modest enough, so therefore ‘deserved’ what happened, this will continue. Whilst we allow others to judge us against their own codes we will lose without realising that there was even a battle.

The Christians are meek, as they don’t understand the message from Jesus as it has been hijacked by Catholics and Judaism and is confused by theists. When religions are pushing modesty rather than forcing their adult congregation to understand their own lustful hearts, this evil inequality will continue. Do not judge the beast, child, woman or man (the object of desire)…judge the Lust which drives the act and do not blame the victim of that Lust.

It is an illusion that the fortunes of life are based on the judgement of gods.

Thanks for reading.

Slavery And My Lilley White Arse (poem)

Slavery in the United Kingdom

My stance on removing slavery completely, in all its forms, in England. Poem is at end.

Human slavery unfortunately, is a growing concern not a dying one.

Our government is allowing workers to be flown in from Europe during covid19 rather than pay a proper wage to farm pickers here. The discrimination that the Latvia workers and people suffered whilst in the UK was disgusting levels. In fact, you could say, Brexit was anti-European.

We have in England zero-hour contracts, bad working conditions, no entitlement to holiday or sick pay and less and less facilities available due to the growing population. Housing is built but the infrastructure is left small, these developments are straining to capacity. The new housing is filled by newcomers with ‘protected’ statuses.

Au pairs are brought in from France and kept in terrible conditions and mistreated, sometimes killed. Denied food, money to phone their parents, money to return home, their passports taken from them by their ’employer’.

Sophie Lionnet should be remembered; her masters tried to burn her body in the garden after they’d drowned her beaten body, this poor white woman endured torture at the hands of her captives for months. As their nanny she looked after their children so lovingly. She had no one adult to turn to.

Sophie Lionnet was a beautiful soul. Her killers easily caught as Sophie was white, they didn’t think anything of just burning her body in the back garden. Neighbours smelled it and called firefighters. The Old Baily put them down for thirty years…not long enough.

One of her killers (I will not name them) has been given public money to appeal the conviction, although they videoed themselves beating her and were both in the garden trying to destroy the body when authorities appeared, they lied and said they were having a barbeque – when do victims matter?

It seems whilst the world argues for a more superior outlook on all black people (regardless of their characters), they’ve dropped the ball on protecting everyone. It seems the effect of promoting black lives matter seems to do the exact opposite to white people who continue to be the most trafficked.

Thirty-nine dead Vietnamese bodies found dead in a truck last year in England were bound for Ireland…when will their lives matter?

So, this Angry White Woman has something to say and a little historical reference from ancient times is going to help me, as this divisive treatment has been going on since slavery was introduced to literature through Hebrew texts and before.

The Israelites took what was around and wrote the Mosaic Law which included rules like foreign slaves could be kept forever but Hebrew slaves could be released after seven years and rules about their care.

Hebrews didn’t invent slavery, they were just the first ones to put law down on paper; their law about slaves covered what and who you could and couldn’t do, etc, but this was in the Middle East, thousands of years ago, before the Bible or the Qur’an were written.

There was already a slave code called The Babylonian Code of Hammurabi in place in 1750 BC that is almost two thousand years before Christ is reported to have been born. Slavery has been around for a long time. It was used for all sort of reasons.

  1. Spoils of war.
  2. Kidnap
  3. Voluntarily – by need or punishment or debt

Slavery was the grease which seemed to keep these empires going and it didn’t fall out of favour for a very long time and I would argue that as it is still legal in some countries more should be done to stamp out what is left, or at least educate against its ideology.

Several Roman Emperors used their positions to make conditions better for slaves, AntonioPius (138 – 168 AD) brought Roman laws in stating slaves could be freed if treated cruelly. Masters could be jailed if they killed a slave. And before that Nero made it that slaves could have their day in court.

The Roman Empire embodied and still encouraged most forms of slavery and it was very much part of religious systems too. The Romans did many things which Angles/Celts or native Britons did not. The Romans did not conquer the United Kingdom with warriors.

Brewers Dictionary of Phrase and Fable quotes (Pope) Gregory the Great as saying (540- 604 AD) – this is a famous saying, most English are not taught Latin at school so do not understand it but manuscripts were written in Latin.

“Angles, Non Angli, sed angeli”

Which is Latin for,

“not Angles but angels”.

Legend has it that Gregory the Great, prefect of Rome, saw some fair headed slaves in the local market and he enquired where they came from. He was told they were heathens from Angle. Heathen means doesn’t believe in God.

On hearing this, he sent Augustine to convert the Angles.

Augustine set up his mission on the Angle islands in 596AD (Britain). Both Gregory and Augustine were sainted for what they did. The internet will tell you that Angles came from Germany, but Angletere is still the French name for England, it means land of the Angles. The Romans had previously tried to conquer all of United Kingdom and failed.

So, I wrote all you would be, modern day, trade slavers and ‘cavers’ a poem. It seems my persecuted history is screaming out to be heard and listened to right now. There are rumours flying around in the media that China is trying to take over – nah, I’m still convinced this is elitists from black lives matter making a move to subjugate the country known as Great Britain, for a Christian or Unified Faith and a brand New Order of Faith and Grace – more legal responsibility given to faiths in Sharia or Mosaic courts.

I’m really hope I am wrong and that I am suffering from white persecution anxiety because of all the news coverage of black lives matter and losing three white male friends to covid19. My experiences at the hands of a few black people are also colouring my view, pardon the pun.

However, having spent many hours discussing with young people online in black lives matter it has come to my attention that they are badly informed, almost radicalized to black lives matter movement and are angry at White British people for ‘ruining the world with colonization’.

Having not argued with one black person about black lives matter I doubt this agenda is actually doing them any favours. It has been Christian white women and Indian/british women who have been pushing the black lives matter ideology in Watford. Not discounting the rising chorus and very public statement of Anthony Joshua telling folks to only buy from black companies and stores. This boy was not oppressed growing up, he led a charmed existence, cossetted by his UK based Aunt in the social services and his wealthy family in Nigeria.

So, in true British banter form here is my take in poem form, of course. If it offends you it’s done what I wanted it to. We didn’t invent Colonization, we just did it. Like, right now, in Africa there is colonization going on. Cameroon killing Ambazonians because they want to continue to speak English. Do their black lives matter?

I thought it to be funny in my poem, as right now humour and education beats violence and threats hands down. There is a nod to the computer language uform and spell binding. The so called white magic lightening peace keepers within our code. Really? Hmmm. Adding to the drama of the fight for ‘good and evil’.

There is a tiny nod to another pagan friend of mine who has just done a course of magic and got a certificate for it. She is studying the Yoruba religion which funnily enough declared its people were going to take over North America this year.

I’m sorry but pagan at heart I just don’t like it. Looks like we are not all the same.

Paganism means more to me, it means freedom and living well, not under oppression.

My Lilley White Arse

By Samantha “unextraordinarybint” Harris written June 2020, under lockdown.

Don’t you just love my skinny butt?

Does it make you jealous much?

Do you like my Lilly white skin?

Notice how it shimmers within.

In the moon and the sun.

How about my blue blood?

What’s under your hood?

History would hasten to add

That not all of you are bad

But envious many of you are

Of my beautiful scars

Oh, you,

Those with souls as dark as night

As black as mud

What were you thinking of?

Your blackness does you defy

Shining in the pupil of our eyes.

You’ve murdered, raped and killed

Across the lands

You’ve multiplied and lied.

You’ve kept hatred in your hearts

And, now you have to start,

Again.

Your skin is not worse than me

But your behaviours undesirable be

You communicate

That you want to separate,

So you can plot against me,

In_security?

Is the jealousy why you hate?

Oh, the spirit world is very clear

All bad magic comes back near

I see what you have done

The darkness you’ve become

It’s not for me to judge

I know the worthiness of me

And I deserve to be free

I will not be enslaved to you

No matter what you do

I will not take the knee

Or break bread with thee

As that would physically

And

Metaphorically be

Just because you hate me.

You hate me because of my skin,

Not for what lies within.

You are a master is every way

And your hatred is gaining sway.

Emily Jones, Lee Rigby,

Luke O’Connell, Daniel Rush,

Too many we can think of

Innocents stabbed as they lived along

Do you justify this hatred in your hearts?

Perhaps it is time to part?

It’s not the way it should be

But yes,

Right now, I’d like you far from me.

Every chance has been given you.

Will you ever be true?

Integrity what a joke you be

Your lies will catch up with thee.

The End.

The Culture of Celts

Regarding the joke played on Celts which has lasted for an eternity. The Gorsedd.

An excerpt from

The Celts by Frank Delaney copyright 1986

Page 219 Under Bequests

The hidden agenda of Matthew Arnold’s jokey and pompous patronage asked – and still asks – an awkward question. How can the genuine causes of Welsh language, poetry, music, identity, be pursued unselfconsciously – the key word in the preservation of any culture – with the continuing presence of such unnecessary counterfeit?

Do the principles of Saunders Lewis and Gwynfor Evans need daft and shaky inventions?

The presence of the Gorsedd illustrates the dilemma of the Celtic bequest. In a number of territories the word ‘Celtic’ and all the attendant legacies has meant a pleasingly egregious identity. [egregious meaning is either shockingly bad or amazingly good]

Being ‘Celtic’ guarantees a right to the possession of romance and colour. ‘Celts’ – with long memories – may still distinguish themselves haughtily from those who once colonised them. The modern Celt can create a kin odd ethnic elite, satisfy the hunger for roots – hunger which increases under the pressure of monolithic cultures.

The old Celtic world stood for freedom on all fronts – imagination, movement, belief – as witnessed by the brilliant and curvilinear art forms, the great migrations, the multifarious deities. Celtic art, within its own form of expression, had no beginning, no middle, no end: of itself, it invited more than participation, it insisted upon total involvement, it became its own inner world.

The right to interpret remained the guiding principle. Even when representational art makes an appearance, particularly under the influence of the Romans, who impose the finite upon the Celtic artist in the same way as they had done upon the Celtic worshipper, the representation still appears reluctant.

The Celts great and ceaseless migrations predicted and epitomised physically their political posture: the freedom of all movement, intellectual, social, environmental, artistic, had always been much too important to accept any ordered enclosures such as the bureaucratic processes of the Roman Empire.

The military reverberation of this posture gave them no protection: if the Western Empire had to be opposed, then it ought to be fought as much for the honour and glory of the warrior, and for the preservation of the familial society as for any national or political reasons. Vercingetorix, remember, could not raise an army against Caesar in Gaul without widespread coercion of his fellow-Celts.

In modern terms, and allowing for pretentiousness, the cultural revivals of the ‘Celtic Fringe’ represent this refusal to participate with the conqueror – a real, if unrealistic bequest.

The Bretons in France fright for independence, speak the language, wheedle, force or cajole grants-in-aid of the central government in Paris. And all in order to distinguish themselves from France and the French by holding on their intensively Celtic traditions. Although the political facts weigh overwhelmingly – ludicrously so – against them, stubbornly they make the language live on, in ever-shrinking pockets, and where spoken it creates the most immediate of frontiers.

The Welsh have perfected this device: their language is frequently operated, manipulated, as a true border – the speaking of Welsh in a public place accumulates and takes on a greater significance if ’strangers’ are present. The Scots display more sense and realism: language and poetry, as spoken and practised particularly in the western islands, keep the sounds alive, and some of the spirit intact.

But they have long since accepted what happened. Two thousand years ago, the Celts of Europe, from which they are – or may be – descended and went into a decline. History did the rest: the only real lingering defiance came, and still comes, from a scattering, in numerical terms, of Gaelic-speakers. And generations ago, Glasgow and Boston took the cream of those.

Being ‘Celtic’ today means old memories dying hard. Ireland, as it capitalised culturally upon the Romans’ failure to invade, continues to plead a special case.

Arguments may rage: should Northern Ireland be seen as a Celtic legacy or a Celtic fringe issue?

Magnificent rhetoric may be derived from the old Celtic imageries, of their brave and elite warrior corps defending the culture of their people against the erosion, and the final destruction of the invader.

The polarisation between the communities underlines a cultural cliché – and the natives, aka Catholics, aka nationalists, aka Republicans, aka Celts have all the bright music, the native culture, the deepest traditions. And that the Planters, aka the Protestants, aka the Unionists, aka the invaders, aka the Romans/Anglo-Saxons, aka the English, have no indigenous culture.

Where is their music? Who are their poets? What is their language? Back comes the cry – how many centuries do you have to live in one place to create a civilisation? To see it in terms of a Celtic bequest is not entirely or satisfyingly accurate except among devils who cite scripture for their own purposes. (In reality many Planters of Ulster came from Scotland: out of what tribal or genetic pool did they swim? Some of them Picts, after all spoke a Celtic language.)

The real Celtic bequest in Ireland lies elsewhere – in the words, and the way in which they illuminate the imagination. In this respect, as with Wales, the term ‘literature’ broadens to include the oral tradition. This body of deep and brilliant material, timeless and varied, has unique characteristics.

The first Irish Poet, Amheirgin, a man of, and with, the Milesians, came to Ireland in 1268 BC, and bequeathed for all time ‘The song of Amheirgin’.

I’m hoping Frank Delaney doesn’t mind me using a bit of his great book to make a point today, maybe the point doesn’t need to be made but with the conversations I’m having online with other folk I think it does.

This is the poem, for those of you who are unfamiliar.

If you think England uncultured you won’t be familiar with it.

You will not understand how important this poem is to us here in England, to our culture, nation, community and wellbeing. For those of us who do know it are lucky. And those among us who know it and understand it are ‘enlightened’.

The song of Amheirgin

I am a stag:          of the seven tines,

I am a flood         across a plain,

I am the wind:     on a deep lake,

I am a tear:          the sun lets fall,

I am a hawk:        above the cliff,

I am a thorn:       beneath the nail,

I am a wonder:   among flowers,

I am a wizard:    who but I

Set the cool head aflame with smoke?

I am a spear:       that rears for blood,

I am a salmon:    in a pool,

I am a lure:          from paradise,

I am a hill:           where poets walk,

I am a boar:        ruthless and red,

I am a breaker:  threatening doom,

I am a tide:         that drags to death,

I am an infant:   who but I

Peeps from the unknown dolmen arch?

I am the womb:  of every holt,

I am the blaze:    on every hill,

I am the queen:  of every hive,

I am the shield:   for every head,

I am the grave:   of every hope.

*************************

It’s a great poem. It stands the test of time.

This poem was handed down orally – on purpose, for a reason.

Julius Caesar was frustrated at ancient Celts for not writing down their knowledge. As long as those, rites, wisdoms and runes, were not written, he could not take them.

Thanks for reading.

For those interested, the poem is a code of our history.

There are some obvious clues, but others are hidden from view.

An easy line, for instance is, “I am a breaker: threatening doom,” is a nod to Christians who break bread and say it’s the end of the world…

Thanks for reading. All comments welcome.
